How I Can Help
I work with many of my clients on managing anxiety and stress by talking through all the anxiety and fears in order to give them them less power as well as teaching skills that can help you to be more present in the moment.
I too struggle with anxiety and I know how hard it can be sometimes to pull yourself out of those spirals.
We are all working through this time together and it is ok to acknowledge when you may need a little extra help.

You wake up and you are immediately on the clock. You grab your phone and start checking email, news, and social media to see what you have missed while asleep.
Instantly the feeling of dread flows through you as you drag yourself out of bed to get ready for yet another work day.
A thought crosses your mind about doing that meditation you have been meaning to get to or even just making breakfast!
After hitting the snooze button about four times though, you are running out the door.
On your morning commute to work, the anxiety and dread builds.
At work you feel devalued and disposable. You work hard and care about doing a good job but you feel unnoticed and uncared for.
You feel as though your efforts are not appreciated and you are just a number in a crowd.
You think to yourself…“Why is it that we pay so much to go to school and get degrees, just to claw our way into entry level jobs! You have the degree but NO EXPERIENCE!” Your mind is racing…
“I have student loans to pay off, but is the feeling of dread every day worth it?”
On your commute home, your body is in knots, the pain in your shoulders and neck are at their all time worst, and all you want to do is zone out. When you get home, you sink onto the couch to watch your favorite show, trying to escape and find some relaxation before having to face another day. That dream of going to the gym and cooking dinner are long gone.
On top of everything going on in your own life, there is the ever present stress around the state of the environment, country, and world. You do your part when you can but activism and standing up for what you believe in takes a back seat to life obligations. The most you can manage is reposting memes and articles on social media.
Juggling work, career development, family, friends, self-care, and growing your financial stability feels overwhelming and you are constantly stretched beyond your limits. You wonder “Why is this so hard for me and seemingly not for anyone else?” “How am I going to continue to do this for the next 40-50 years?”
It can feel as though no matter how hard you try, you are always running on empty!
You may feel disengaged, withdrawn, unfulfilled, and like you are just existing instead of thriving. You could be having trouble sleeping and have increased anxiety or sadness. You feel like it is hard to get the motivation to do the things you want to do. You know your relationships are suffering and it is increasingly hard to set boundaries or ask for help.
You deserve connection, rest, and self-compassion!
You deserve to feel valued, passionate, and able to achieve your goals!
Take A Breath... There is Hope!
Imagine waking up in the morning feeling energized, rested, and excited about your day.
Imagine leaving work every day feeling accomplished and able to disconnect to make time for the other important things in life.
Imagine you have the time to do the things that make you feel whole and connected to yourself, others, and the world.
Imagined feeling fulfilled and able to plan for the future!
I Know What Your Going Through
As a millennial myself and someone who also struggles with anxiety, I have been through this hardship and frustration.
I know how hard it is to feel as though you are just on the hamster wheel of life without any way to get off.
Part of the reason I created Reclaiming Stories Therapy was to gain a better life balance for myself and start living the life I planned and desired.
It took me looking inside myself and going against the fear of leaving my job, disappointing clients who could not follow me, judgment from others, and taking a risk to understand that even though it was going to be a long and hard road, this was what was right for me.
How I Can Help
My approach for anxiety is a combination of teaching you real applicable skills to use in the moment when you are feeling anxious as well as looking at what you want in your life as a whole and shifting the narrative.
Anxiety comes from from the emotion of fear. We fear the unknown and so we make up all these 'what if' scenarios to try to control that unknown.
However, this constant worry and fear builds up stress in our bodies and makes it hard for us function the way we would like to.
Anxiety can make it hard to regulate emotions, connect with others, sleep, and keep our bodies healthy and pain free.
I help my clients to really paint the picture of what anxiety looks and feels like in their lives and bodies and then create a plan on how to get from where they are to where they want to go.
Some of the ways we get there can be through mindfulness, meditation, coping skills, reframing your fears or thoughts, and sometimes medication. I find that often going against anxiety and really just sitting in the moment is one of the best ways to learn how to cope.
If the anxiety tends to be more situational, such as the dread that overcomes you every time you even think about work, sometimes a big life change is the best solution.
I work with all my clients to really find the best balance in their lives.
I have supported many clients in making the decision to transition out of a job or switch careers because that was the best thing for their life and mental health.
Questions You May Have About Anxiety Therapy
Is anxiety really something that I need counseling for?
Well, I am here to tell you that there are NO problems too small for therapy!
I personally really enjoy working with clients to manage the unique stress and anxiety our generation faces and empowering the creativity to find new solutions to these problems.
Everyone has the right to have someone give their attention, empathy, and compassion and hold the space for them to explore and process their anxiety.
Can I really make a change in my life that will give me more balance?
I work with clients to identify all the barriers that are holding them back from living the life they desire.
Many of these barriers are real and sometimes hard to change. However, there is power in naming the barriers and finding the ones we can create freedom around in order for you to implement the change that is right for you.
Many of us get stuck in what society, family, or peers say is best for you or listening to all the things you ‘should' do.
I help clients deconstruct the stories they are telling themselves that keep them stuck in the lives they are unhappy in and look for the openings where they can create effective change.
I have witnessed the power of a mindset shift and have aided many clients to find the path to a better-balanced life, even when sometimes that means quitting your job and jumping to a whole new career path.
Others have found happiness in creating more space and presence in their daily life while finding more of a balance in priority between work and all the other realms of their life.
Why should I burden you with my small problems when there are so many bigger problems in the world?
I believe that our world and especially our generation really have a hard time taking time for ourselves. No matter how big or small the impact of anxiety and stress is on your life, it is always important to look at how you can live the life that you want.
We only get one life and I want to help my clients really find the path that helps them feel the most fulfilled.
This is a great opportunity for you to look at what you are needing in your life right now and start prioritizing you.
Whatever you need, I am here for it!
Look to the Future
Are you ready to prioritize yourself and your needs?

Feel connected, engaged, and focused on your goals.
Say goodbye to sleepless nights and wake up feeling refreshed and motived.
